A 29-year-old Grant Amato was so tempted to watch a video of a hot girl on a dating app that the boy killed his parents and brother for it. Margaret Amato lived in Florida with her wife, Chad Amato, and three children. Two of these children, Cody and Grant Amato, were real brothers. The two were twin brothers, while Jason Amato was their half-brother.
Jason left home at the age of 19 and got married and settled down after doing a job. Whereas, Cody and Grant wanted to become doctors. That’s why both of them became anesthesiologists after studying. But both did not work.
Grant Amato used to spend time on social media while sitting at home. Then here he got a dirty addiction. He used to watch videos of girls through webcam. It was such an app where money was used to watch videos of girls. He didn’t have the money. So he started demanding money from Cody. Cody would have given him the money without thinking twice.
One day Grant met a girl named Sylvie on the app. She told that she is from Bulgaria. Grant was so fond of watching his videos that he started blowing US $ 2500 (Rs 2 lakh 6 thousand) daily to watch one of his videos in a single day. After watching a video, that video was not played again. But Grant was infatuated with Sylvie. That’s why he transferred the money to Sylvie’s account and started getting videos from her.
Similarly, within a few days, Grant had paid more than US $ 2 lakh (Rs 1 crore 65 lakh 54 thousand) to Sylvie in exchange for the video. Now he secretly started transferring money from the credit card of the parents to Sylvie’s account.
Grant’s parents became suspicious of spending so much money, they questioned Grant about it, on which Grant lied to them that he was investing money in a game, but his lie was soon caught. Angered by this, Margaret scolds Cody a lot. Even after this he did not improve and kept on wasting money.
When Grant’s father came to know about this, he became very angry. Distressed, Grant’s parents got him admitted to a nearby rehab center. Sylvie was blocked there. A few days later he was brought back home. On 24 January 2019, Grant’s parents asked him to do a job, after which there was a lot of fighting in the house. Then three murders took place in that house at night.
When the police entered the house by breaking the door, they were surprised to see the inside scene. There they saw Cody’s dead body lying near the stairs. A knife was stabbed in his chest. When the police went inside, they found Margaret’s body in one room and Chad’s body in another. Both were shot.
Grant was arrested by the police. On January 28, he confessed his crime. He told that first he shot the mother three times. Then killed the father by firing on him as well. After this, he attacked Cody with a knife and killed him.
According to the New York Post, killer Grant was sentenced to life imprisonment without any parole. Grant is currently lodged in a Florida prison. Despite all this, he has written an 8-page love letter for Sylvie inside the jail.
