Seven people were killed and eight others were injured during a road show by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in Kundukur town of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. Andhra government officials told that many people have been injured in the accident and some are seriously injured. Naidu was on a road show when a crowd of thousands thronged his vehicle, causing a stampede.
TDP national general secretary and Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh said in a statement, “The death of TDP workers is a big loss to the party. My deepest condolences to their families. We have made arrangements to provide better treatment to the injured.” I pray for his recovery. Telugu Desam Party will support the families of the deceased in every way.

After the tragedy, Naidu immediately canceled the meeting and announced an assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. The Telugu Desam Party president met the injured in the hospital and directed the party leaders to ensure better treatment for the injured.
