Taliban deputy governor killed in bomb blast
Meanwhile, Maulvi Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, the Taliban’s acting deputy governor of Badakhshan province, was killed in a car bomb blast in the provincial capital Faizabad. An explosives-laden vehicle targeted the convoy of the deputy governor at Faizabad’s Mahakma Plaza, according to Maujuddin Ahmadi, head of Taliban-ruled Badakhshan’s information and culture department. According to Ahmadi, the suicide bomber detonated the vehicle in front of the deputy and acting minister of Badakhshan, Maulvi Ahmad Ahmadi, killing the deputy governor and his driver. Some people around have also suffered injuries in the bomb blast. The local resident told that I was sitting nearby. We heard a bang and my brother came running to me. His neck and legs were covered in blood. Immediately we took him to the hospital.
