Washington. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit China early next month and the details of his visit are being worked out. An official spokesperson gave this information. State Department spokesman Ned Price said at his daily news conference on Wednesday that the challenges posed by North Korea to the Indo-Pacific region and beyond would be on the agenda for discussion when the secretary of state visits Beijing.
Price told reporters, “The foreign minister has said that he will visit the PRC (People’s Republic of China) early this year. Now that 2023 has begun, I would hope that the External Affairs Minister will have the opportunity to visit Beijing next month.
“The details for the visit are being worked out,” he added. The dates for Blinken’s visit to China have not yet been announced, but a Politico report said he is likely to be in Beijing on February 5 and 6.
