At least 15 soldiers have been killed and three wounded after a fire broke out at a military barracks in the town of Azat, in the eastern Gegharkunik region.
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has informed this Thursday that the balance of victims is preliminary, since the condition of the wounded is serious.
The fire would have broken out at around 01:30 local time at the headquarters of the company of engineers and artificers, as indicated by the ministerial portfolio.
At the moment, the causes of the event are unknown.
