The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi reached Madhya Pradesh’s largest city Indore on Sunday. During this, along with people from different sections of the society, a differently-abled person also joined the yatra and Rahul was seen pushing his wheelchair for some time. After participating in the yatra, Divyang Manohar told that he told Rahul that now the country should change.
The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ entered the 5th day in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The people involved in this started walking under the leadership of Rahul after night rest at Mhow, the birthplace of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and reached Rau in Indore district. A red carpet was rolled out to welcome the Yatra in Rau.
During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress President Rahul Gandhi also rode a bike wearing a helmet in Rau. During this, Congress MLA Jeetu Patwari was seen running with him.
In a tweet, the Congress said, “It is immense love for the country and unwavering faith in democracy that is coloring thousands of people in the same color of ‘Indianness’.” This crowd gathered in the holy city of Mother Ahilya will continue to unite the country.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Harinarayanachari Mishra informed that 1,400 personnel have been deployed for the security of the yatra in Indore and barricades have been put up at various places. Twelve dilapidated houses have been temporarily evacuated in Rajbada area with narrow streets and densely populated area, so that the possibility of any accident during the journey due to these can be eliminated.
Rahul will address a Nukkad Sabha at Rajwada in Indore this evening. After this they will take night rest at Chimanbagh Maidan. He will leave for Ujjain from Bade Ganpati at 6 am on Monday.
It is noteworthy that in a letter received by post on November 17 to a sweet-salty shop in Juni Indore area, mention was made of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 and the horrific bomb blasts at different places in Indore during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Along with the blasts, death threats were made to Rahul Gandhi and Kamal Nath. In this case, the police had arrested a person.
