Washington. There is news of cyber attack on many federal agencies of America. Hackers took advantage of a weakness in file transfer software to hack federal agencies. America’s cyber watchdog agency Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has revealed this.
Systems in the US as well as the UK and several other countries have also been affected by the MOVEit Transfer software breach. In fact Progress Software, the developers of MOVEit Transfer, disclosed the security flaw only last month. Since then the incidents of hacking have increased. Eric Goldstein, CISA’s executive assistant director, issued a statement saying that at the moment he is trying to understand the damage caused by the hacking and is trying to fix it. However, the company has not disclosed the damage caused to US federal agencies.
Explain that hackers have also attacked British energy giant Shell, John Hopkins University, John Hopkins Health System, Georgia University System. Shell company spokeswoman Anna Erta said that MOVEit Transfer is used by only a few employees and customers of our company. The cyber attack has not affected the core IT systems of the shell company.
John Hopkins University’s network has been affected by this cyber attack. At the same time, the University System of Georgia said that they are currently assessing the damage caused by the cyber attack. Last week, there was also a cyber attack on UK Telecom Regulator, British Airways, BBC, drug store chain Boots.
