UP Transport Corporation has taken a big decision to reduce the accidents due to severe fog in Uttar Pradesh. According to the instructions issued by the Transport Corporation, if there is a decrease in the visibility level due to fog on the way, then the buses will be parked at the nearest public place and the buses will be operated again from 8 am to 8 am or only after the fog clears.
Giving information about the operation of buses, the Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation, Sanjay Kumar said that in view of the accidents due to fog, it has been decided that if fog is found on the route, then the buses will stop at bus stands, dhabas on the route. Police stations, petrol pumps, toll plazas will be parked till the fog subsides. It will be decided by the Regional Manager according to the local situation. Buses will be operated again from 8 am to 8 am or only after the fog clears.
He told that in view of the fog, online booking has also been closed for the next 1 month. Regional managers will camp at bus stations from 8 am to 12 midnight and will provide elaborate arrangements for stay, bonfire, toilets, cleanliness and security at the stations for the driver/operator as well as the passengers.
Canteens and stalls located at bus stations will remain open day and night. Drivers will also be tested for drug use through breath analyzers. He made it clear that instructions have been given to ensure that the passengers do not face any kind of trouble during this period.
