The state police has got great success in Punjab. The Punjab Police has registered 258 FIRs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act last week. Superintendent of Police Sukhchain Singh Gill said on Monday that the police have arrested 366 drug smugglers and suppliers. 28 commercial FIRs are also included in the 258 registered FIRs. The Superintendent of Police said that the police have recovered 8.44 kg of heroin, 7.75 kg of opium, 17.64 kg of ganja, 19 quintals of opium husk, 59 kg of tablets, capsules, injections and vials of pharma opioids.
Apart from all this, the police have also recovered drug money worth Rs 1.22 crore. Superintendent of Police Sukhchain Singh Gill further informed that since the launch of the special operation on July 5, the total number of arrests has reached 444.

According to reports, DGP Gaurav Yadav has ordered all commissioners and senior superintendents of police to investigate each and every case thoroughly. Along with this, it has been ordered to investigate especially related to the recovery of drugs, even if a small quantity of drugs has been recovered.
