According to the Hong Kong Airport Authority (HKAA), at around 00:20 local time, Cathay Pacific’s CX 880 flight to Los Angeles was prevented from taking off from the airport due to a signal discrepancy and the emergency rescue ladder was immediately opened for evacuation. The injured passengers were sent to the hospital and nine of them have been discharged from the hospital. Police said the plane appeared to have had a tire burst during take-off and the evacuation routes were opened by the emergency, during which some passengers were injured during the descent of the plane.
