The church was vandalized in Narayanpur of Chhattisgarh. The statues of Mother Mary and Jesus were broken. On December 18, Christians from several villages in Narayanpur were evicted from their homes. “Because we go to church, we were thrown out of our own homes,” said 17-year-old Mohanty, a resident of Narayanpur district.

These people reached the collectorate and pleaded for justice. The administration accommodated these homeless people in an indoor stadium. About 80 people are still forced to live in the shelter.

Tension has been prevailing in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh since 18th December.

The mob led by BJP district president Rupsai Salam vandalized the church.

During the vandalism, the crowd also broke the statue of Mother Mary.

The statue of Jesus was also broken.

In the midst of tension, stones were also pelted at this police. Some policemen were injured who were admitted to the hospital.

SP Sadanand Kumar got injured in stone pelting. Blood started oozing from his head.
