What did the mother of the deceased girl say after the Supreme Court’s decision?
According to the report, after the order of the Supreme Court, the mother of the deceased girl was seen crying. They said that we have lost. I was waiting for this verdict for 11 years. Now it seems that we have no reason to live. I was feeling that my daughter will get justice.
What was the whole matter?
This case is of 14 February 2012. The deceased girl was a resident of Uttarakhand and used to work in the Cyber City area of Gurgaon. She was coming back home from office after work. She was about to reach her house when on the way three boys allegedly kidnapped her and took her somewhere in the car. When he did not reach home, his parents filed a missing person’s report. Several days after the incident, the girl’s body was found in Rewari village of Haryana in a very bad condition.

“Never thought such a day of judgment would come”
Yogita Bhayana, Anti Rape Activist and Founder of PARI (Pari-People Against Rapes In India) said that we are running short of words to say something after this decision. If the sentence in this case is waived, then after being the daughter of this country, I have lost faith in the justice system of India.
Yogita Bhayana raised the question and said that what is the meaning of slogans like ‘Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao’.
The death sentence was rejected, it didn’t even happen that his sentence should be commuted, he has been left completely free, he will come out tomorrow morning. We had never thought in life that such a day of justice would come. Justice has been given to the accused, injustice has been done to those whose daughter has gone. If the accused are left open after committing so much barbarism, then it is a stigma in history for the country.Yogita Bhayana, Anti Rape Activist
He further said that either one should give up trust in the Lower Court or if the Lower has any meaning, then after investigation, after some thoughtfulness, he sentenced him to death and the High Court also gave the punishment. Now it has been said that both the investigations are wrong and the poor were pardoned. This decision of the Supreme Court has raised questions on the justice system itself.
“Won’t the rapist be encouraged?”
The chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women said that in 2012, a 19-year-old girl was gang-raped and murdered in Delhi. The High Court sentenced the culprits of this terrible case to death but was acquitted by the Supreme Court. This is the case in which acid was poured in the girl’s eyes and a bottle of alcohol was poured into her private part. Wouldn’t this boost the morale of the rapist?
