After the death of 39 people in Bihar’s Saran district, allegedly due to consumption of alcohol despite prohibition, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a stern statement that whoever drinks will die, this is clear. He even said that prohibition was implemented only at the behest of all the people.
Talking to reporters in Patna, he said- “The one who drinks spurious liquor will definitely die, people have to be careful themselves. In the states where there is no liquor ban, death continues due to consumption of spurious liquor.”
Nitish Kumar said that even when there was no prohibition in Bihar, people used to die after drinking spurious liquor. People should be alert. He said that if liquor is banned in Bihar, then some or the other fake will be sold, people have died after drinking it, liquor is a bad habit, it should not be consumed.

The officers have been clearly told not to catch the poor, catch those who are doing this business. Many people have benefited from the prohibition law, many people have given up alcohol.
On this statement of Nitish, BJP MP Sushil Modi said that, I believe that due to poisonous liquor, people can die in other states as well. When you (Nitish Kumar) decided to implement liquor ban in Bihar, then how come such a large number of people are dying, how are such a large number of people going to jail? We are in support of prohibition but it needs to be reviewed. The Chief Minister should take responsibility for this failure and apologize in the House.
