The former president responded that his pardon powers were especially focused on nonviolent criminals.
The Alice Johnson case became relevant during the Trump administration, since the woman was serving a life sentence since 1996, ineligible for parole for a nonviolent drug offense.

Kim Kardashian advocated for the woman
The announcement came after socialite Kim Kardashian advocated for Johnson at the White House.
After the brief reminder about Johnson, Baier told him that in that case, the woman would have been sentenced to death, but Trump insisted that she committed the crime without violence.
“But she would have been killed under your plan…As a drug dealer”, cBaier questioned.
“Hey? … “No no no. under that? It would depend on the severity,” former President Trump responded.
The former president has promised a strong hand against drug traffickers and human traffickers, if he becomes president of the United States again.
