Tokyo. Two people died during the exercise at the training center in Japan. Government spokesman Hirokazo Matsuno said the suspect was taken into custody after the incident. However, he has not given any other information about the incident.
The Ground Self-Defense Force said in a statement – ‘During an exercise in the training of new personnel, a self-defense force candidate opened fire on three personnel.’
Police said the suspect, an 18-year-old SDF candidate, was taken into custody at the scene by other soldiers. He said the candidate has been accused of attempting to murder a 25-year-old soldier.
An aerial footage showed soldiers and some locals standing around the emergency vehicle after the incident and police personnel blocking the road.
Talking to the media, a local person there said that at 9:30 in the morning, he saw emergency vehicles going to that area, but before that he did not get information about any incident.
