An FIR has been registered against Richa Jogi, daughter-in-law of the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Ajit Jogi, in Mungeli district in a fake caste case. With this, once again the caste genie of the Jogi family is seen coming out. As soon as Amit Jogi talked about padyatra from 26th November, along with that the genie of his wife Richcha Jogi’s caste came out of the closed bottle.
Assistant Commissioner LR Kurre has lodged an FIR against Richa Jogi at City Kotwali police station Mungeli in connection with the production of wrong caste certificate.
What is the allegation? In the year 2020, after the death of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, his daughter-in-law Richa Jogi also filed nomination for the Marwahi assembly seat that fell vacant. After investigation, it was found that Richa Jogi is not a tribal but a Christian, after which not only her nomination was rejected but also a case was registered against her.
After the report filed by the State Level Investigation Committee on 23 June 2021, Richa Jogi’s difficulties kept on increasing. The investigation committee concludes that Richa Jogi claims herself to be from the Gond tribe, but her ancestors describe themselves as Christians. Not only him but the caste dispute has always been associated with the entire Jogi family. Sant Kumar Netam also went to the Supreme Court regarding Jogi’s caste.
With the registration of an FIR against Richa Jogi in the case of presenting a wrong caste certificate, once again there is talk of investigation. It is being said that due to Amit Jogi becoming politically active once again, such action is being taken to put pressure on him. Although Amit Jogi’s party has already dissociated itself from the Bhanupratappur by-election and he seems to be supporting the Congress, but ahead of his padyatra starting on November 26, this action against him is said to be politically motivated.
