Over 50 shops were destroyed in a massive fire at the wholesale market Bhagirath Palace in Chandni Chowk in North Delhi. Police gave this information. According to the fire department, they received information about the fire at 9.19 pm on Thursday night and 40 fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the spot. At present, 20 fire tenders are engaged in the operation to control the fire.

The fire broke out in a shop in the market, which quickly spread to other shops, officials said. All the shops are of electrical appliances. An official said that 20 fire engines are currently present at the spot and efforts are on to control the fire. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
