Former Tata director RK Krishnakumar died of heart attack.

Tata Trust member and former director of the company RK Krishnakumar breathed his last on January 1 in Mumbai. He was 84 years old. According to the information received, he died on Sunday due to a heart attack at his home in Mumbai. Born in Kerala, Krishnakumar had held several positions in the Tata Group. In which the post of head of its hospitality arm ‘Indian Hotels’ was also included.

For your information, let us tell you that RK. Krishnakumar (R. Krishnakumar) was a director in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. He was the Vice Chairman of India Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) for many years.

Krishnakumar was earlier heading Tata Global Beverages and then played a key role in the acquisition of global tea company Tetley in the year 2000. Which established Tata Global Beverages as a significant player in the beverage sector.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has expressed grief over Krishnakumar’s death. Thalassery-born Krishnakumar helped strengthen the group’s ties with the state, he tweeted. The Chief Minister expressed condolences to his family.

Deeply saddened to hear the passing of Padma Shri R. K. Krishnakumar, former #TataSons director and @TataCompanies veteran. Born in Thalassery, he was vital to many pivotal moves by the group, including strengthening ties with Kerala. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends.

At the same time, Ratan Tata said, ‘The grief I feel on the death of my colleague RK Krishnakumar cannot be expressed in words. I will always cherish the cordial relations we shared within the group and individually. He was a true soldier of the Tata Group. The faithful of Tata Group and Tata Trust will always be missed by all.
