Electric vehicle manufacturer PMV Electric has launched its first electric car in the Indian market for consumers. Named PMV EaS-E, the car is a micro-electric car. Importantly, this is the cheapest electric car in India. The company has priced it at Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This price will be for the first 10 thousand customers. The vehicle has received 6000 bookings even before its launch. Customers can book this vehicle from the company’s website.
Apart from being the cheapest, it is also the smallest electric car in the country. The PMV Eas-E electric car offers a range of up to 200 km on a full charge. Its top speed is 70 kmph. PMV Eas-E Electric Smart Car can be controlled by mobile phone. The car gets a 10 Kwh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack with IP67 rating. The electric car will be powered by a PMSM electric motor that produces 10kw of power and 500 Nm of torque.
PMV claims that the operating cost of the Eas-E electric car is less than 75 paise/km. This electric car gets a touchscreen infotainment system with cruise control, remote parking, digital instrument cluster, on-board navigation. The curb weight of the electric car will be around 550 kg. Talking about the battery charging time, it takes about 4 hours to fully charge the battery of this car. This car can be charged through any 15A outlet. The company is providing a 3 kW AC charger with this car.
The company claims that no compromise has been made with the safety of the smart car. Informing about this smart electric car, Kalpit Patel, Founder, PMV Electric said, ‘We aspire to electrify the country and hence we are going to introduce a completely new segment called Personal Mobility Vehicle. This car is made for everyday use.’
