Colombo. The High Commission of India organized the first India-Sri Lanka Defense Symposium and Exhibition here on Wednesday. It aims to promote cooperation between the two countries in the defense sector and identify new areas of cooperation. The High Commission said on Wednesday that the Indian defense industry, Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, Sri Lanka Armed Forces, Police and Special Task Force would participate in the event.
According to a release issued in this regard, the exhibition was organized to deepen ties with Sri Lanka. It aims to identify new areas of cooperation for economic revival while ensuring capacity building for the Armed Forces of Sri Lanka.
Along with this, the seminar was organized to highlight the capabilities of both the countries in the defense equipment manufacturing sector. The High Commission also noted that the Sri Lankan Armed Forces are properly operating Indian defense equipment such as the Indra radar, state-of-the-art offshore patrol vessel, L70 cannon, Dornier aircraft and army training ‘simulators’.
