London. Lending his support to the upcoming ‘UK India Week’, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday said he is confident that the India-UK partnership will be the defining one of our times. Britain’s then Finance Minister Sunak was the special guest at the ‘UK-India Awards’ during last year’s summit.
It was then that he spoke for the first time about his Indian heritage and commitment to British Indian values. In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Downing Street, Sunak (43) described the annual event ‘UK India Week’ as a catalyst for new business ties and long-term cooperation.
Sunak said, “India Global Forum’s annual ‘UK India Week’ is a highly anticipated event in the bilateral calendar of our two great nations. It is a catalyst for new business relationships, lasting collaboration and a better future for our people. I am confident that this partnership will be the defining one of our era.”
Preparations for ‘UK India Week’ 2023 began with a ‘Young Leaders Forum’ event at the Nehru Center in London on Saturday. In this, various bilateral issues including technology and innovation to infrastructure and sustainability will be discussed in the events to be held in London and Windsor. The annual event will be held from June 26 to 30.
