MADRID, 15 Jan. (.) –
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed this Sunday the death of a 45-year-old citizen by shots from Israeli forces after an altercation with the military at a checkpoint in the West Bank.
The incident occurred near the city of Silwad, east of Ramallah when, according to witnesses, the Palestinian had a verbal altercation with the military, who forced him to get out of the vehicle.
Images of the incident collected by the ‘Times of Israel’ show the man fighting with the troops, before the shots rang out, but the Israeli Army has not yet ruled on this incident.
The individual has been identified as Ahmed Hassan Abdeljalil, who was shot at least once in the neck and succumbed to his wound shortly afterwards, at the Palestinian Medical Complex in Ramallah.
The family of the deceased has assured the Palestinian news agency Wafa that what happened is a “cold-blooded execution”. His sister, Iman Kahla, said Ahmed was on his way to work in a construction shop, along with his 18-year-old son Qusay, when he was stopped by a military checkpoint near Silwad.
After the verbal dispute, Ahmed was directly assassinated by the Israeli forces, according to the family version of the incident.
