Islamabad. Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was disqualified from contesting elections for life after his name cropped up in the Panama Papers leak case, is likely to make a comeback under a new law made in Pakistan. In 2018, after the Panama Papers leak, Sharif was facing serious corruption charges and was banned for life from contesting elections, since then Sharif has been living in London. Keeping Sharif in mind, a bill was passed in the Pakistani House yesterday, in which the life ban on Sharif from contesting elections has been reduced to five years.
The bill will be signed by the President today and as soon as it is signed, the bill will be converted into a law, after which not only Sharif will be able to return to the country, but he will also be able to participate in active politics and participate in the elections. It is believed that after this law, he can become the Prime Minister of the country. Right now his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif is the Prime Minister.
