New Delhi: The difficulties of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan are not reducing. The Shahbaz government is trying every trick to tighten the noose on them. Imran Khan was produced before the country’s top anti-corruption investigation agency on Tuesday in a corruption case. But a few hours before the hearing, the Government of Pakistan has changed the anti-corruption laws overnight and made them more stringent. Due to this change, it may be difficult for Imran Khan to get relief.

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, who is acting in President Arif Alvi’s absence for Ziyarat, directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to arrest a suspect during the investigation period and also to the NAB court after arresting a suspect within the first 15 years. Instead of days, now issued an ordinance to allow the provision of 30 days in custody. This ordinance was issued on the advice of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The notification signed by Sanjrani said, ‘The suggestion of the PM is approved in para 6 of the summary.

It has been implemented with the signing of the National Accountability (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023. The changes were made around midnight and a few hours before Imran Khan’s NAB appearance. Imran Khan along with his wife Bushra Bibi left for Islamabad from Lahore as both were to appear before NAB in the Al-Qadir Trust case. Please tell that the Al-Qadir Trust case is about corruption of at least 50 billion rupees. Imran has denied any wrongdoing and accused the government of targeting him for political reasons.

At the same time, Imran Khan has got a big relief from the Islamabad High Court. The High Court on Tuesday declared the Toshakhana case inadmissible and approved Imran’s bail plea. Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq has given the verdict. Imran is in the dock for buying expensive gifts while being the Prime Minister. They also include his Graff wristwatch. He got this watch from the state depository named Toshakhana at a discounted price. Which he later sold at a higher price.
