Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi passed away on Friday. She was 100 years old. Heeraben breathed her last at 3.30 am at UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad. Heeraben was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday evening. PM Modi paid tribute to mother Heera Ba by tweeting.
Paying humble tribute to his mother Heeraben, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that “I have always felt the trinity in my mother, which includes the journey of an ascetic, a symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”

Heeraben was admitted to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center in Ahmedabad on Wednesday after his health deteriorated. His death was informed in a bulletin issued by the hospital. According to the medical bulletin, “Heeraben Modi breathed her last at 3.30 am on December 30, 2022 during treatment at UN Mehta Heart Hospital.
Prime Minister Modi reached Ahmedabad from Delhi on Wednesday afternoon and went to meet his mother in the hospital there. He stayed in the hospital for more than an hour and discussed with the doctors about the health of the mother.
Heeraben was also known as Heeraba. She lived with Prime Minister Modi’s younger brother Pankaj Modi in Raisan village near Gandhinagar. The Prime Minister used to visit Raison regularly during his Gujarat visits to meet his mother. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heera Ba had turned 100 in June itself. On the 100th birthday of Heeraben, PM Modi had come to Gandhinagar to meet him.
