London. Inflation in Britain came down to 10.5 per cent for the second month in a row. Along with this, the belief has gained strength that common people can get relief from inflation in everyday expenses. The Office for National Statistics said on Wednesday that consumer prices rose 10.5 percent in December 2022, up from 10.7 percent the previous month.
Inflation in October 2022 reached a 41-year high of 11.1 per cent. Despite recent declines, inflation is still at levels seen in the early 1980s. Prices are rising faster in the UK than in other major industrialized countries. Last month, inflation eased to 6.5 per cent in the US and 9.2 per cent in the 20 euro area countries.
