Domino’s pizza chain tested its first jetpack delivery to Glastonbury Festival attendeeswhich took place from June 21 to 25 in the United Kingdom, prior to the presentation of the legendary Elton John.
According to the pizzeria, the company was inspired by the original song “Rocket Man” by Elton John, one of the great guests headlining the poster of the prestigious festival in its recent 2023 edition.
“When we realized that serving portions inside the festival was impossiblewe were inspired by Elton John year to launch our own rapid delivery test – it was a no-brainer,” said deputy director of public relations, Sam Wilson.

Wilson later added that during the annual festival, Domino’s receives a large number of calls from hungry attendees asking if they can sneak food onto the festival grounds.
“So this year we wanted to take a giant step forward and try out our own rocket man service to help hungry campers get a piece of their fill,” Wilson continued.
The collaboration that made this possible
Domino’s futuristic food delivery method made possible by collaboration with Gravity Industries -a company dedicated to the development of these types of suits and technology- that designed a fully customized suit that keeps the pilot safe and the pizza hot.
“Keeping pizza piping hot in the special suit is certainly an unusual use of our technology and pizza is not on our normal flight plan,” a Gravity Industries spokesperson said. “But being able to beat average delivery times by flying across Somerset fields and feeding campers with pizza delivery experts certainly shows the future of express delivery service.”
The cost of the suit has not been disclosed but is believed to be in the “hundreds of thousands of pounds”.
