Senior Executive Editor of NDTV India Ravish Kumar has resigned. In an announcement through an internal mail within the channel, NDTV said that the resignation is effective immediately.
Ravish Kumar used to host many programs including the channel’s main flagship show Hum Log, Ravish Ki Report, Desh Ki Baat and Prime Time.
A day earlier, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy resigned as directors on the board of RRPR Holding Pvt Ltd with effect from 29 November, amid Adani Group’s open offer to acquire New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV).

According to the report of the Indian Express, NDTV Group President Suparna Singh has written in this mail that, “Few journalists have impacted people as much as Ravish. This reflects in the immense feedback about him; in the crowds he draws everywhere; in the prestigious awards and recognition he has received, within India and internationally; and in his daily reports, which champion the rights and needs of those who are under-served.” Ravish has been an integral part of NDTV for decades, Suparna said, adding that his contribution has been immense, and “we know he will be hugely successful as he embarks on a new beginning”.

Ravish Kumar is known for his tremendous coverage of grassroots issues affecting the general public of the country. He has been awarded the Ramnath Goenka Excellence twice and the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2019.

Ravish Kumar, an alumnus of Delhi University and IIMC, has been with NDTV since 1996.
Ravish Kumar has hosted shows like Hum Log, Ravish Ki Report, Desh Ki Baat and Prime Time for NDTV India. During this, Ravish Kumar’s identity was made as a fearless journalist. In 2019, he became the fifth Indian journalist to be honored with the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
Ravish Kumar has consistently criticized the policies of the government and attacks on press freedom. He has also continuously raised the issue of unemployment among the youth. He even coined the term ‘Godi media’, which he generally used for news channels which are allegedly considered mouthpieces of the ruling party.
