There has been a big disclosure in the Shraddha Walkar Murder Case. The DNA report has confirmed that the hair and bone samples recovered by the Delhi Police belonged to the deceased Shraddha. Shraddha Walker’s live-in partner Aftab Poonawala is accused of killing Shraddha and then chopping her body into 36 pieces.
Delhi Police has received the report from Center for DNA Fingerprinting Diagnostic Hyderabad. The mitochondrial DNA report confirmed that the hair and bone samples matched Shraddha Walker.
Elaborating further, Sagar Preet Hooda, Special CP/Law & Order (Zone II) said,
- In FIR No. 659/2022, PS Mehrauli, bones and hair (where DNA could not be extracted) were sent to the Center for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad for ‘DNA mitochondrial profiling’.
- Today the result of the above test has been received. A piece of the alleged bone and a tuft of hair from the deceased matched with the DNA of her father and brother, establishing the identity of the bone and hair as Shraddha Walker.
- The bones will now be sent for postmortem by the Medical Board of AIIMS.
