After it became known that a tornado devastated the community of Perryton, Texas, leaving at least three people dead and dozens injured, images of the natural phenomenon began to spread.
It was storm chaser Marcus Diaz who caught a chilling video of the tornadowhere you can see the strength and speed with which it moved.
After what happened, emergency personnel from neighboring areas and from Oklahoma went to Perryton, where more than 8,000 people reside, to support rescue efforts and medical services, as revealed by AP.
For its part, Ochiltree General Hospital in Perryton posted on Facebook: “Minor injuries please proceed to the clinic. Everyone else go to the hospital emergency room.”
Brian Emfinger, who tracks these types of storms, told Fox Weather he saw the tornado tear through the trailer park, destroying vehicles and uprooting trees.
“It seemed like people just had to rescue themselves. People were coming out of the rubble, you know, there was a fire nearby. It was a really, really horrible scene,” she added.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has deployed state emergency resources to “meet urgent life safety needs in Perryton, Texas,” according to a news release from his office.
