The diplomat assured that the recently announced mega seizure of fentanyl from four Chinese companies was such that it had the capacity to kill 25 million people. At a press conference, he showed photos of some boxes containing 200 kilograms of chemical precursors, he said that with them 50 to 55 kilograms of the synthetic drug could have been produced. He pointed out that this seizure could affect the equivalent population of New York, Mexico City and the State of Mexico, together.
In a letter published on his social networks, Salazar said that the same transnational criminal organizations that traffic fentanyl also do so with weapons and people, for this reason the US and Mexico “have made a common front to stop this evil in several ways.” heads”.

Actions against Chinese companies
The remarks came as the United States filed charges against four Chinese-based chemical companies and eight Chinese citizens for trafficking precursor chemicals used to make fentanyl.
