The United States authorities have transferred to Ukraine in recent months part of the ammunition that it has stored in Israeli territory, according to what US and Israeli officials have detailed to the CNN television network.
According to the US source, Washington has sent kyiv “some” of the 300,000 155-mm caliber projectiles that it stored in Israeli territory, and has advanced that there are plans to finish transferring the rest of the material.
For his part, the spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, Richard Hecht, has commented that they received the notification from Washington a long time ago, although he has remarked that the ammunition is American, it is his “business” and he does not have to ask for permission to move it.
However, CNN has also echoed information published by ‘The New York Times’ about Israel’s “concerns” in this regard, as they want to distance themselves and avoid “appearing complicit in arming Ukraine.”
