The ultra addictive rogue-lite is getting a major update to allow you to hunt hordes of monsters together.
Take out your stakes and your garlic collars: vampire survivors is about to get even more fun. Under its simplistic pixels, the game developed by Poncle is a little nugget that has not failed to convince players around the world. This title has found the ideal recipe to captivate gamers for hours. With short games and a rogue-lite progression system where each endgame offers new upgrades to unlock, anyone who tries the experience will quickly be drawn into this endless spiral.
vampire survivors also shines with its economic system. On consoles and PC, the title only costs the modest sum of €4.99 and comes with two expansions available for €1.99 each. Even better, the iOS and Android versions are completely free, including DLC. The mobile versions are financed thanks to entirely optional pubs, making it possible to come back to life once during the game and to increase the winnings received at the end of it. The accessibility of the title on almost all existing platforms also promotes its success. But while all that was missing was the Nintendo Switch on his list, it’s now done after the Nintendo Direct which also confirmed a new way to play.
The mod we’ve all been waiting for
vampire survivors will be released on Switch on August 17. This version will be sold at the same price as on the other platforms and will also come with two DLCs: Legacy of the Moonspell And Tides of the Foscari. However, the arrival of the Switch version comes with another piece of good news. On the same date, all other versions will receive an update implementing co-op mode long requested by gamers.
This new way to play will be completely free and will not require the purchase of any additional DLC. Multiplayer games will take place with up to 4 players on a single screen. There will be no ability to venture into different corners of the split-screen map. Unfortunately, this mode will only be accessible locally and will not offer network functionality. However, Poncle has already confirmed that Steam players will be able to take advantage of the Remote Play Together feature to share games online.
On the gameplay side, the title will include some modifications to adapt to the presence of additional adventurers. The experience bar will be shared between each of the characters, who will then be able to level up in turn. Each individual character will therefore be less powerful than usual, and it will be necessary to work hand in hand to overcome waves of enemies. The developers also clarified that new mechanics will put a spoke in the wheels of his friends.
