Washington. The White House has said that the US has a “significant” defense partnership with India and “excellent cooperation” in the Quad. This was stated by John Kirby, the National Security Council’s Strategic Communications Coordinator at the White House, at the daily press conference on Monday ahead of the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“We are excited to have Prime Minister Modi here,” he said. Responding to a question, Kirby said, “As you know, the United States has an important defense partnership with India and in the ‘Quad’ , there is excellent cooperation with India in the Indo-Pacific region… We are looking forward to (Modi’s) visit.
The Quad comprises India, the US, Japan and Australia. Prime Minister Modi will be visiting the US from June 21 to 24 at the invitation of US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. During this, he will also address the joint session of the Congress.
