Winnie almost goes horrific in this amazing concept strategy game, due out in 2023.
In the category of surprising games, Twice Different hits hard. While the independent studio is still preparing the release of its next game Ring of Painhe announces a brand new very original title. Winnie’s Hole is a strategy game in which you play as a virus that infects Winnie the Pooh’s body. If the concept seems surprising, the goal of the game is even more so.
Indeed, as a virus, you must spread the disease that you carry in the body of the poor little bear, which gradually turns into an abomination. Several mouths, prominent appendages all over his body, Winnie becomes throughout this adventure a monster in spite of himself. Since you can’t stop there, you’ll also have to infect Winnie’s friends. More the merrier, the merrier.

On Steam, Twice Different is already setting the tone: “Explore randomly generated worlds inside your host’s body. Discover new cells to evolve and lead the adventure. Gather resources and unlock new abilities. Build and specialize your host to survive encounters. Evolve and infect other creatures in search of the ultimate vessel. Acquire new hosts and master different playstyles as your influence grows.”
If the universe and the concept are glaucous, the artistic direction has this je ne sais quoi of charm. Winnie the Pooh remains one of the emblematic figures of our childhood, it was a question of not distorting everything either. It even surprises us half to see the character in this register, given that a horror film has also been made in his effigy. The works will be able to multiply since the intellectual property of the nice little bear has fallen into the public domain this year.
For the moment, no release date has been revealed. No one knows if the game will be present during the many announcements planned in the coming days – for the Summer Game Fest but also the conferences of independent games – we can nevertheless expect to have it in our hands during 2023.
